'This soundfont is my fixed version of Patch93's Roland SC-55 Soundfont v2.2. Some samples were taken from JexuBandicoot527's SC-55 soundfont and Bill90's Masquerade 55 soundfont.' 'I added SC-55 samples and fixed loop.' '. They sounds like in SC-55, because i'm taking samples from original Sound Canvas VA in SC-55 mode. The Roland SC-55 (Sound Canvas) is a GS MIDI sound module released in 1991 by Roland. The SC-55 was the first sound module to incorporate the new General MIDI standard.The SC-55 used both PCM and a cut-down version of the LA synthesis engine, to support 24-voice polyphony with 16-part multitimbrality.This Soundfont contains all 128 General MIDI instruments contained within the original SC55.

Setting up and exploring the Roland SC-55 mkII synthesizer module and testing it with classic MS-DOS and Windows PC games! As far as General MIDI playback go. It's actually pretty much the best soundfont you can use for games which had their soundtrack composed on a Roland SC back in the days. Games like Doom or Duke3D are pretty much made for this. And since I had an SC-55 for a while, I can say this soundfont already comes quite close to its sound in most situations. hello!
here is a more or less complete roland sc88 soundfont. it was made by Mr Sannic on musical artifacts using a demo of Roland Virtual SOund Canvas Va.

note to foobar 2000 users: this soundfont may not be relivent because foobar supports the vsc core directly, which doesn't have the limitations of the trial version. just go to advanced prefferences>playback>secret sawse path and enter the path where vsc va is installed. if dun correctly, 'secret sauce' should be an option in the output plugins conbo box, and you can set it to sc88 mode by selecting it from the flavor combo box. this soundfont is for those who use other soundfont players like the basmidi driver or forks of dosbox that implement fluid synth.
